I love photography, I appreciate my clients  and I am grateful when someone gets in touch just because they want to thank me for sharing the way I see the world . Here are some of their kind words.

Scott,

Just wanted to thank you for your wonderful work at Commencement. I spent some time yesterday looking at your photos, and they’re really fantastic. So glad we were able to hire you to cover the event as a kind of visual storyteller. You really captured a lot of what we were hoping for–those moments of joy and the intimacy of emotion among friends and families–as well as some fresh perspectives on our traditional ceremony.

Looking forward to working with you again soon!

More than the fact that he is a total pleasure to work with; more than the fact that the subjects of his photos always remark upon how skillful he is at putting them at ease; more than the fact that the results of any assignment I give him are gorgeous, pristine works of art that defy the term “photojournalism” — what I love more than anything about working with Scott Barrow is that he always surprises me in the best possible way, by giving me everything I ask for and need but also and always something more – something ineffably, singularly Scott Barrow, something I could have never even known or imagined I would want or could have. Scott Barrow sees things that no one else can see. And in that way, he is a true artist.

Scott,

I just had to write and say how stunning your photos are. I saw your name in an RPI publication and googled you. I have been sitting here at my desk just going through the images. I am mesmerized by the color and use of light. What a terrific break from the hectic day I was having!

You are incredibly talented.

Take care and thanks again for sharing your talent.

I went to see Donna after I received this note. I have often asked someone for five minutes of their time knowing that it would be at least thirty, but this really was a five minute meeting because of her busy schedule. I sent a thank you note and received this reply.

Scott,

I think the reason someone invented speed dating is because you know in the first 60 seconds if you are going to work well with someone.

It was a pleasure to meet you as well and I hope that we can work together in the future.  (I just photographed the President’s Report and Donna is excellent to work with).

“As a marketing professional at a small college in Massachusetts, I have had the privilege of working with Scott on many projects over the years. Scott is by far one of the best photographers I’ve worked with. His attention to detail, creativity, dedication, and work ethic are impressive. Scott manages to remain unobtrusive and always puts the subjects at ease. I would highly recommend him to anyone looking for a top-notch, highly professional photographer.”

Dear Scott,

Thank you for the lovely photos of me and my staff in this month’s BBQ. Your skillful photography (and photoshop skills, no doubt) are garnering me many flattering comments. Great shot of Lauri Klefos, too!

Hope all’s well.

Dear Scott, aka “a man with a vision,” thank you so much for forwarding me
the disc filled with nothing else but MOI. As i viewed 116 images of MOI, I
developed an acute case of vanity and egomania, which can lead to
megalomania. How can i go on like this?  Joking apart, many shots came out
beautifully, and your inspired artistic touch and vision are present in all
of them. Just give me a few more days to recover from the above-mentioned
“conditions” and to finalize the preliminary choices that I have already
made. I will contact you soon. All the best and many thanks, again.
you were such fun to work with!

Scott Barrow recently came to my studio for a photography session. My natural inclination is to feel uncomfortable having my picture taken. It has always been this way. He intuitively suggested, “Would you be more comfortable painting?” Yes, he understood. He cracked the code by simply listening, respectfully, to capture my process. He took the time and really connected, without routine. I believe this resulted in strong images. His work expressed what I had hoped, my process. There is chaos and elegance that leads to art. He used his talent to tell that story visually. The session was meaningful and to my great surprise, fun.

Hi Scott,

…I just wanted to drop you a note to say how much I love the photos you took of Marilyn Kalish. The collage is especially wonderful, of course, and I used it across a spread in the story…

Thanks for your gorgeous work!

Hi Scott:

I am in happy tears.  These photos are extraordinary.

Thank you for not only your expertise, but your charm, and your ability to move the troops when necessary…    Really I cannot say enough about how fun and charming and benignly dictatorial you were (at just the right time!).

Many thanks and warm regards,

Dena (mother of the bride)

In response to a mailing:

Congratulations Scott. Great news and a beautiful shot. Part of the intelligence in the “universe providing” was having a fantastic photographer awake and present to take that shot.
